It was developed by Tokyo Design Division. This division studied global, youth inspired trends, where in Japanese and American youth cultures influence each other and thereby developing new concepts and unique twists. In this case, the Hako Coupe Concept is the emergence of American vintage style among young Tokyo trendsetters. The concept embodies diverse global outlook on today’s youth. Simply, it is a sporty version of a box, wherein the xB’s iconic boxy shape was modified to have a livelier outlook, yet emotionally appealing.

Every single detail conveys a powerful and cheerful message. The car’s geometric profile has a compact and bold package. In terms of its LED lights, the headlights are designed to have a trapezoidal shape and lie parallel with the huge and aggressive, rectangular upper grille. The taillights however, echo the shape of the headlights. Plus, there are the round fog and back up lights. Its outline is accentuated by slim, race-car-inspired side mirrors. To add contrast and dimension, powerful, flared fenders were used. It has vertical windshield and high linear beltline.
Looking at its interior, you can see accents of orange and details of metallic features that exude a modern environment which is entertaining a well. Both the front and rear seats were designed for easy cleaning since the upholstery is urethane and rubber-like. Plus there’s storage for magazines, cell phones, and other small items. Talking of the orange driver’s seat, it has a gaming theme, from the warning lights, shifter, to other forms of controls. Most especially, it has its own entertainment system located on the passenger’s dash. It consists of two video monitor screens, radio, video, and other music capabilities. In fact, you can even upload videos and music through a Bluetooth connection.
